Increased the size of the cone slightly so it'd work better with SeeMeCNC spools, and designed a bracket that mounts tight to a SeeMeCNC Orion's existing side panel.

After a carriage upgrade on my machine, I had some spare 608zz's laying around, so make sure you have those available for the cones.

Metric components being hard to come by in my neck of the woods, and not wanting to order anything online, this is the list of parts I ended up with for the spool holder;
One 5/16 x 6 carriage bolt (I would actually suggest a 6.5 in retrospect.)
Six 5/16 flat washers
Four 5/16-18 hex nuts
One 5/16-18 wing nut

Order of assembly should be bolt / washer / mount / washer / nut / washer / cone / washer / nut / nut / washer / cone / washer / nut / wingnut. The nut/nut combination should be tightened loose to the cone, and tightened hard into eachother to stop the cone from unthreading them as the filament unloads counter-clockwise. Same theory with the nut/wingnut combination. Or you could just find reverse-threaded components...

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

SeeMeCNC

Printer:

ORION Delta 3D Printer

Rafts:

No

Supports:

Yes

Resolution:

0.2

Infill:

30%, MatterControl "Line"

Notes:

Make sure to set your slicer to print support everywhere for the bracket.

Category: 3D Printer Parts
