The ORS spoon is a spoon mostly used in 3rd world countries to safely make your own Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS). According to Wikipedia ORS is "a type of fluid replacement used to prevent and treat dehydration, especially due to diarrhea". Correct measurement techniques are essential for the preparation of ORS: too little sugar or salt does less good, and too much salt can be dangerous. This is why Health Books International has developed a special measuring spoon for making ORS in a cup of water.
