This is an air assist nozzle that I designed for my Ortur Laser Master 2 20W laser. This design is based on a blog post from Nervous System: https://n-e-r-v-o-u-s.com/blog/?p=8722. The concept is that laminar flow is the best for air assist and the nozzle itself is based on a super soaker nozzle patent. The nozzle creates laminar flow through the use of the straw like channels through the body of the nozzle, the nozzle shape itself and the sharp edge at the outlet of the nozzle. This is designed to be printed with no supports and provides better cutting and cleaner lines than the standard air assist nozzle I was using previously (see photos). The cut is somewhat cleaner than the standard air assist but demonstrates better depth of cut. All 3 squares are 20mm on a side and the laser is set to 100% power, speed @ 200mm/min and 10 cuts. The material is 3mm birch plywood. I use a 250 GPH aquarium pump to run my air assist: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B088ZWX1BH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 My laser is also equipped with a G-8 collimating lens. The air assist nozzle is simply press fit to the laser lens focusing ring and may require a light sanding on the print to get the fit exactly right. I am also including the small bracket I use at the top of my Ortur laser to hold the aquarium tubing in place. This is held in by the same screws that hold the top plate onto the laser diode. I am also adding the file for my standard air assist nozzle that is not laminar flow. This is also friction fit on the end of the lens adjusting knob. This nozzle is wide open on the inside, is shorter overall and does not have any laminar air flow guides inside. This still worked much better than no air assist and could be used for taller work pieces.
