Ortur Laser Master 2 Air Assist And Protection

- Update 20211108: Widened the covers for a better fit. - Update 20211107: Added a v2 where the protection is flipped and a "socket" for "measurementstick" is added. I found this flip to make it easier to work with and also, the angle of nozzle is softer to allow better airflow. ############################# I made this combined air assist and easily removable protection so that I can make height adjustments and then put back the protection when I so see fit. The air assist in threaded with M6 on the nozzle end so that you can use a standard 3D printer nozzle (I use a 1mm nozzle) and it's perfectly aimed for use with the Ortur LM2 that have a fixed focus lens. The tube end is threaded with M8x1 so that you can connect any of the variety of tube connector on the market (pneumatic for instance). The model is a "frictionfit" but I recommend using the screw holes on the back of the laser to secure the model. You will need to move your Z-axis stop up about 2cm (just past the X-axis bar) and change your work area to 400x400 (from 400x430). You will never miss those 3cm, trust me. ;) - If you use the Z height adjuster that came with LM2 then you should use: LM2 Air Assist (With Original Height Adjuster) vX.stl - But if you use the "Height Adjustment Ortur Laser Master 2" by PLAY3Rone977 (Highly recommended) https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4607685 I recommend that you use: LM2 Air Assist (With Better Height Adjuster) vX.stl - Both setups should still use: LM2 Air Assist Protection (Cover) vX.stl - I'm also adding a M8x1 tubefitting to use (it is still fragile so be careful) until you get a proper metal one. - I've also added a "Tubeholder" that can easily be printed and used to keep the tube in place at the top by the motherboard. Let me know what you think, I loved doing this project and my reason for doing it was that there were no good air assists or protections for the LM2. And I really don't have the need for looking into the laser all the time and risking loved ones walking in and getting eye damage. I do however use welding glasses when I'm just to curious! :) I use a ACO 318 from Heilea (bought on Amazon). That and some 8mm (OD 8 / ID 6) tubing is all you need for a very good and simple air assist setup. Enjoy!
