Oscillating Fan Sub-Assy

Oscillating Fan Sub-Assy

Fan & base assembly of an existing fan I have in my home office. I took great pains in modeling the gears & mechanism that makes the fan oscillate, hoping I could animate that action in SW, but, alas!, it appears that SW is incapable of animating a motor that moves itself within an assembly, the way it does in an oscillating fan (since the motor is part of the assembly that oscillates back & forth). If you suppress the mates that connect the crank, and then un-suppress a mate that I named “Lock Oscillation”, you can manually spin (by dragging) the fan blade and see the gears working (after making the gearbox transparent, of course). But with all the involved mates un-suppressed, SW will NOT animate the oscillation – a little disappointing.
