I recenly purchased an Osoyoo 7" DSI touch screen on Amazon for my Raspberry Pi 4B so I could use Octo Dash with my printer set-up. Most of the other 7" screen enclosures I could find were either for the RPI offical 7" screen or for screens that require HDMI cables. I like the DSI screen because of it's simple interface with the RPI. Since I couldn't find any suitable cases I designed this as one of my first design projects. I used FreeCAD 0.20 with a lot of help from YouTube videos and Ilan Kushnir's 5" Osoyoo case concept. The case allows for a cooling fan on the back as wells as openings for the RPI USB ports, power cord and camera cable. I opted to have all the cables exit from the back of the enclousre for simplicity. The enclosure is sized based on Osoyoo's spec sheet but found some slight variances in tolerance but everything fits nicely. M2.5 x 16 mm cap head screws worked nicely to secure the lid to the body. I'm still looking for alterate mounting options but for the short term designed a bracket to mount to the right side bottom extrustion utilizing M5 screws and t-nuts. Since this is an intial design I decided to just drill to two holes to attach the case to the bracket using M4 screws and nuts once I determined how it would all fit together. The location of the opening is a bit cumbersome for installing USB cables but I can deal with it since I don't plan on having to change the configuration. For future updates I plan on adding a second cooling fan as well as GoPro type mounts so I can attach to the top extrusion rail. Any thoughts, let me know.
