Outboard Motor Steering Stabiliser

Outboard Motor Steering Stabiliser

This here is a outboard motor steering stabiliser assembly that I designed to make sure that the steering returned to center should my hand not be on it for a moment. I dont think that print settings are particularly important in this. For mine I chose 3 perimiter and top/ bottom layers with 30% infill. Initially I have made it in PLA which seems to have performed well but in the longer term I may cast it in aluminium or re print it in PETG. The assembly clamps over your outboard motor handle below the throttle and then uses bungy elastic cords and clips to attach it to the corners at the rear of the boat. Not only does the setup return the motor to a central direction but it also assist in new users piloting the boat who might otherwise find the default setup a little too responsive. This has been designed to fit on my Evinrude 20hp (of unknown year) and may well not work on your motor but it is not difficult to design one for your particular motor.
