Over Glenny 9, Port of Menteith

This newly found panel, recently discovered by Mr George Currie, has unusual motifs. They have been carved across the surface of a gently sloping outcrop to the north-east of the abandoned farmstead at Over Glenny. The upper, smaller, panel has been decorated with at least 4 cup-marks, one of which is enclosed by a double ring. The lower panel has up to 16 motifs including: a cup-mark with two rings, the outer of which touches the outer single ring of another cup and ring motif; three double cup and ring motifs sit in a cluster, one of which is complete whilst the other two are partially truncated by the first and by each other; a group of four cup-marks positioned at the corners of a diamond shape; three cup-marks enclosed by a large sub-circular groove, and several possible lone cup-marks. The motifs appear to follow and respect the natural features of the outcrop.
