Overwatch Backlit Logo

thingiverse

Overwatch logo that is backlit by WS2812B Addressable LEDs and can be hung with a screw to the wall. Designed to be printed on the 300x300 bed of the CR10, idk if scalling it up for the S5 or anything larger that the regular CR-10 will allow the parts to snap together so try at your own risk! Parts snap together, no screws or glue to assemble the parts. Parts have .3mm gap to give a snug fit. I noticed that the actual logo includes a chamfer. So I included both the flat(the one in the picture) and the chamfered version(I haven't printed it yet. It shouldn't need supports for the lip but your printer may vary.). I soldered the LEDs with a sight arch to contour with the logo. For the upper Arch, I soldered 3 LEDs together and made a mirror set glued 2 of them back to back (that's hard to explain) see the picture. Glue the LED upside down for a brighter shine. Regular 5050 RGB strips can be used if you don't want to mess with coding or don't know your way around WS2812B LEDs. But I encourage you learn! These LEDs allow animations like the one in the video. It adds a more cool factor. lol. I bought the controller and LEDs from Amazon. You'll need exactly 60LEDs. Check the Print section to see what settings I used to print. You'll need: ~300g of Black for the Main face of the logo ~300g of Clear/translucent white for the rest WS2812B 60LEDs (1Meter): <a target="_blank" href="https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D1DRJ0G/ref=as_li_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&creativeASIN=B01D1DRJ0G&linkCode=as2&tag=michaeltranst-20&linkId=a2c07bcff72bbe1c18ec75b444361714">WS2812B LED Strip 1M 60 Pixels/M</a><img src="//ir-na.amazon-adsystem.com/e/ir?t=michaeltranst-20&l=am2&o=1&a=B01D1DRJ0G" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" /> WS2812B 300LED (5Meters) **recommended if you acidentally burn a pixel...I might have done that...: https://amzn.to/2qgW7df WS2812B RGB Controller: https://amzn.to/2uSvD7e 5V 4A power supply (Logo will consume 3.6A MAX but better safe than sorry): https://amzn.to/2qipgVv **These are affiliate links. Of course the usual DIY tools like soldering iron(recommend the SainSmart Pro32), solder, wire, sire stripper, etc. When you print and make this, I'd LOVE to see pictures of it! Upload them here or tag me on instagram @michaeltranster Tipping is a thing too ;)
