P3Steel Y-Axis Adjustable Belt Tensioner

P3Steel Y-Axis Adjustable Belt Tensioner

This is a remix of MattyVee's brilliantly simple design. After having the tensioner in use on my Prusa MK3 for some time I've decided that it would be a great addition to my P3Steel as well. All solutions I've found for that printer were either clunky, wobbly or hard to get to (two screws under the heated bed etc). There's one little problem with the P3Steel and this design: the two horizontal screws holding the Y-Idler come out right under the inner wheel holders and - and this is the bigger issue - they are too close together to allow a 20-tooth GT2 idler wheel to spin freely. There's two ways to get around this issue: - make the back-plate of the part much thicker to get the nuts far enough down to give the wheel enough clearance - drill two new holes into the P3Steel front plate (Use the drilling template for that. Arrow/Triangle points to top.) I went with solution #2, mainly because it allows me to use any parts made for the Prusa MK3 on this machine too with very little changes. If you can't or don't want to drill any holes into your printer, please let me know and I'll do my best to design a "fat version" of the tensioner's back-plate to give the wheel enough space. Assembly & additional hardware needed can be found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2786671 Hope the thing works as well for you as it does for me! __Update 1:__ I've added a drilling template to give a better chance to get the holes into the right places :) __Update 2:__ You'll need some sort of feet to put the P3Steel on, otherwise bottom clearance isn't enough. I've never realized this before as I've always put mine on printed feet. I'm using these guys here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:532424 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:571549
