October 2nd, 2021 update: I have slowly been ironing out kinks here and there, so this is the latest version of the casting. Feel free to overwrite the old one in your downloaded assemblies. Here is the complete casting for the upper crankcase of the Packard Merlin, P.N. 618110. It was modeled and rendered in SolidWorks. I wouldn't say it was 100% perfectly accurate to castings that were used to create the original engines, I made several allowances for the sake of simplifying things. For instance the front, bottom, rear, and cylinder deck surfaces should have a small amount of material added so that it can be machined to a smooth surface, but I just modeled them up to the machined surface. I did add some material to some other bosses so that I could get fillets and later spotfaces right. I've included files for solidworks, parasolid, iges, step, and stl.Let me know what you guys think. I am currently working on the other parts for the upper crankcase assembly and will post that when I am done.
