Paddle Shifter

Paddle Shifter

thingiverse

This is a paddle shifter design that I made for my SAE Formula team. We wanted to replace the shifting buttons on the steering wheel with something more intuitive so the driver wouldn't have to "look" for the buttons while driving. My design uses two magnets for the detente force and a lever actuated limit switch for signal transfer along with some McMaster hardware. Currently the magnets are N35 but if you want harder detente the linked website has the same magnets going up to N50. We printed it in ABS but PLA would probably hold up just fine. Enjoy! ***The Neon Yellow Prints are versions specific for our Formula Car. The uploaded files are general purpose and would have to be glued to a surface or modified with mounting holes.*** Hardware List (1) https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/e- switch/MS085R104F045V1A/MS085R104F045V1A-ND/1628104 (2) https://www.magnet4sale.com/n35-1-2x1-4-neodymium-rare-earth-disc-magnet/ McMaster Hardware (2) 91255A020 (1) 92735A615 (2) 90480A004
