#### Pantograph, All in One The **pantograph** is a useful tool based on the properties of similar triangles. They are mathematically appropriate for young children to learn about basic shapes, their relationships, and a bit of proportional thinking in life and arts. In the present design, I put all the pieces together in a hinged structure so a pantograph can be printed in one round. Enough tolerance is left between the moving joints; it can be printed at a resolution of 0.2mm or less. There are some physical limitations in terms of the drawing space; however, they seem to be adequate for educational purposes. ####Among the Files 1. Three pantographs with a scale factor of 2, 2.5, and 3, respectively. 2. A sturdy version with a scale factor of 2.5. 3. A small pin adapter for fixing the pantograph with a thumb tack.. #### How to Use 1. Once printed, gently bend the pantograph to loosen the hinges and lubricate as needed. 2. Fix one endpoint with a small screw (around 4mm; the hole diameter is 5mm) on a cork board or other flat surface. A thumb tack could also be used, too. 3. Get two pencils or pens to draw shapes. One could scale up or down, depending on the perspective. Team work might be appropriate when working with children. One person draws; the other follow along. 4. Use graph paper for more mathematical observations such as comparing common geometric shapes (triangles, squares, circles, etc.) ####References 1. https://www.britannica.com/art/pantograph 2. https://cacm.acm.org/blogs/blog-cacm/243178-how-does-a-pantograph-work/fulltext
