Parabolic Reflector Light Stand

Parabolic Reflector Light Stand

This base prints in three parts. They are: 1. A parabolic dish which accepts a cut-off USB cable through the side and 5mm LED legs through the pedestal inside the dish. 2. A grinding tool which holds the 5mm LED to the right height so that you can sand off the rounded lens at the top of the LED. 3. A petal cutout template you can use to hold aluminum foil (heavy duty works much better) for cutting out the reflective lining. I other words, two tools and the actual Thing you want. I built this base to illuminate an acrylic Lichtenberg Figure sold to me from Captured Lightning made of a 2-inch diameter clear acrylic cylindrical puck. I wanted a relatively uniform vertical column of light, and though the result is not perfectly uniform it is quite adequate for this job.
