Paracord winder

Paracord winder

Last couple of years I use tarp during my hiking trips so I decided to create some organizer for different lengths of paracord ropes which I use to set up my tarp. Result is this winder, let say that it is version 1, maybe during summer I will catch some imperfections and then I will update the model.

Winder is designed with four sections for shorter and thinner paracords (those I use in corners of tarp). In my case there are 2 pieces of 1 meter rope and 2 pieces of 2 meters rope. Over them I have 10 meters of ridge line paracord rope. In the middle are holes in which I have 4 pieces of overhand loops for connection tarp by Prusik knot. I am using quick release knots which you can secure by piece of twig or stick, I decided to use small 3d printed pegs for this. There are 8 pieces of those mini pegs in this design, secured by neodymium magnets (8 mm diameter, 3 mm thick, magnets are glued into pegs) and square nuts glued into winder (square M3 nut DIN562).

Eight pieces of mini pegs because I use two for securing ridge line quick release knots (Siberian knot on one side, Trucker's hitch on other side) another two for connection Prusik knot and overhand loop on tarp and another four if i need to connect overhand loops in my tarp corners.

Printing setting are up to you, I divided model to halfs and printed them with pretty raw settings of 0.25 layer, 20% infill and 2 perimeters. Pegs are done with 0.15 layer and 4 perimeters. Halfs are glued together.
