Parametric Box Generator
thingiverse
A script is available for generating laser-cut boxes by reading a config file containing dimensions. This tool is used extensively at Metalab, including for an electronic door lock system case. The script can be found here and may require SPL installation. To use the script, create a *.box file with box dimensions such as w=180, l=180, h=100, and t=5. Run "boxgen.spl" with the box file name as an argument to generate a DXF and SCAD file. Modify the DXF file using a dxf editor like QCAD, adding holes for cables or user interface elements. Preview the box in OpenSCAD by opening the generated SCAD file, using F12 for faster rendering and to avoid glitches at concave edges.
With this file you will be able to print Parametric Box Generator with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Parametric Box Generator.
