This OpenSCAD script will help you make pinwheels from either regular (113 x 9 x 1.5 mm ) or jumbo (148 x 17 x 1.5 mm) craft sticks. The pinwheels spin on a 608 (skateboard) bearing. You control how many blades the pinwheel has, the pitch of the blades, and whether the pinwheels have a power take-off rim. Full instructions are in a comment at the top of the script. I have printed and tested pinwheels with up to 16 blades with this script. Ten blades are probably the minimum for good performance, but the script itself will produce a workable hub for any number of blades. Print Settings Printer Brand: Prusa Printer: Prusa Steel Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: .04 Infill: 20 Notes: All hubs printed with PLA. ABS should work but beware of warpage and dimensional changes. Pinwheels In Action!
