Parametric Divided Box with Sliding Top
thingiverse
I built upon Aaron Ciuffo's outstanding tutorial on parametric design, revised and rearranged his code to better suit my needs, and incorporated additional customization options. To get the lid to fit perfectly after printing on my 3D printer, I made some custom adjustments to his work, so I decided to roll those changes into a customizer in case others encountered similar issues. Highlights: * Can now define variable-sized compartments in both x and y directions * Automatically calculates box size based on compartment and wall/divider thickness settings * Added an optional catch to help keep the lid securely in place * Introduced numerous fit tolerance tuning variables for optimal results Customization Features: -- Customize hole and lid size in all axes separately -- Adjust divider height (I adjusted the edges of the dividers to prevent little nubs from forming at the joint between divider and box) Print Settings: Printer: xyz Davinci Mini Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .02 Infill: I used 15% infill, but you can increase it for a sturdier box
