Sometimes, you want to drill into a wall and you don't really want debris flying everywhere, so, I made this parametric shop-vac attachment. Works flawlessly!

Pretty simple, sits flat against the wall and has a "window" that allows you to do your drilling. The vacuum from your shop-vac will suck up any debris as it is being produced.

I printed mine out of clear PETG so that as much light as possible will be able to get through.

The STLs and gcode supplied here are for a 45mm hose. If you need another size, you can use either the F360 file or STEP file included herein. You can adjust the hose size (diameter and socket length), the "window" diameter as well as the shell thickness and the amount of fillet.

Print instructions

I used translucent PETG, probably could use PLA without issue. This is sliced as a variable layer height print so layer-heights vary from 0.3 to < 0.1mm.

It is strongly recommended that it is printed with the hose opening side down so that the diameter of the hole is accurate but more importantly so that layer lines are perpendicular to the direction of inserting the hose, otherwise as the inserted hose widens, it can cause splitting at the layer lines.
