### Parametric hair catcher for shower floor drain The hair catcher net is designed to fit snugly into the clamping ring in a floor drain, while the flange prevents it from falling down. The idea is that it's much easier to just replace this with a new one every now and then instead of having to unclog the the drain when too much hair get stuck. The diameter of the inside of my clamping ring is 136mm (it's a vieser floor drain) so I set the model to 135.8mm diameter with a 1mm flange to keep it in place, which works perfectly. Since this most probably fits only vieser drains with the clamping ring used for tiled floors, you need to measure the inside diameter of your clamping ring and set that in the 'parameters' spreadsheet in the included FreeCAD model and export the .stl. Or **just leave me a comment then I can upload the size you need.** The nice thing about this _thing_ is that something very similar is sold for 6.90 euros for a three pack, and the cost of printing this in PLA is below 10 cents. According to Slic3r it's just 1.2m / 3.5 grams of plastic, and prints in 20 minutes. Note that these are meant to be thrown away, not cleaned, so that's a huge difference. PLA is probably also friendlier for the environment, so that's a bonus too. ### Printing This is designed for a 0.4mm nozzle and 0.2mm layer height. You need to enable 'detect thin walls' in Slic3r, probably something similar in other slicers. No supports or raft. UPDATE: New version uploaded 2019-08-11 with a coarser net so it won't clog up as fast, a stiffer flange and much stronger connection between the net and the rim.
