Parametric multi-LED-strip bracket
prusaprinters

Remix of the single LED strip bracket by deadsy. This one allows you to mount multiple LED strips in parallel.

31-Aug-17: I want to use this to mount LED strips on the eaves of my house, and realised that the bottom lug would be in mid-air. I've added another parameter to allow the bottom lug to be rotated 90deg, so that it is at right angles to the strips, flush with the bottom of the eaves. Also added a parameter to put holes between the LED strips, and allow the end lugs to be zero-length.

02-Sep-17: Realised that there would be no room for the top lug, but I still wanted a bottom lug, so made the top lug optional.

22-Oct-17: Added photos of the installed strips. (Erk! why does TV always show my photos upside-down?) To install, first I strung up one strip with spring clips holding the brackets in place. That way, I could move it left/right to where I wanted. I then fixed one end, and worked towards the other, putting the brackets at the copper pads where the strips can be cut. I nailed the bracket from the bottom first, then threaded each of the strips into place, and finally nailed it in place using a small panel pin.

17-Nov-17: Finished? Added a wire hole. For longer strips (over 7 metres or so), you need to run +12V & ground to the far end, otherwise the far end LEDs are a bit dim.
Category: Decor
