Parametric Push Up Bar / Parallette

This model provides a fully parametric push up bar for your home gym fitness equipment, designed in Autodesk Fusion 360. I used the model in combination with a wooden rod (oak) and it was extremely useful to simply customize the diameter of the hole in the model and do some test prints to get the perfect fit between rod and the print. I'd recommend going in steps of 0.2 mm and test fit your available rod. If you feel like it you can just play around with all the dimensions of the model to find a size that suits your needs, as there are plenty of parameters to fiddle with.

Furthermore, I included an option in the file to toggle one or two holes for screws or bolts, if you want more than just friction holding the rod in position, though for me friction was working just fine for now. To this end, you can right click on the respective hole entries in the design timeline and select “unsuppress feature”.

Print parameters

The following settings worked well for me:

Filament: PETG

Layer height: 0.28 mm

Infill: 30% triangular

Perimeters: 8

No top and bottom layers

Supports: no

With these settings the prints have endured several weeks of use so far, putting up to 90 kg of weight onto the bars (exercising a lot of handstands at the moment). The prints are definitely on the hefty side, using about 170 g of filament for two printed models and I am pretty sure you could get away with a lighter version. Just play around with the thickness of the model, the infill density and the number of perimeters.
