Parametric Slim Herringbone Gear Set With Embedded Setscrew And Helix Angle

thingiverse

This is an enhanced version of ScribbleJ's parametric herringbone gears, my first OpenSCAD design. Created specifically for reduction gear boxes. Additions: - Corrected captive nut position for rack gear - A helix angle modifier parameter has been added (it is recommended to keep the helix angle under 45 degrees unless you are familiar with its implications) Missing: - The rack gear hex nut sink was removed because the larger gear will also be used on a 5mm shaft in my project. You can restore it by modifying the parameters. Notes: The setscrew holes are not through, as 3D printing a hole between the gear teeth is generally not recommended for most printers. The hole comes very close to the teeth and should be drilled from there yourself.
