# Customizable Standard Hinge * Opens flat with no sag, unless configured otherwise * Printed in place for convenience * Non-removable captured pin provides stability * Pin is aligned along the y-axis * Reinforced knuckles are extruded from the leaf for added strength * All values can be modified and come with sensible defaults Current version of this design on GitLab: https://gitlab.com/stgnet/custom-hinge-design # Parameters: Knuckle Count: The number of knuckles, defaulting to 7; if even, the pin will be exposed and unsupported at one end Note: If the knuckle count is set to 2, the two leafs can be separated Hinge Length: The y-dimension of the entire hinge starting from y=0, defaulting to 8mm per knuckle Hinge Width: The x-dimension of the entire hinge with its center on x=0, defaulting to 40mm Knuckle Diameter: The diameter of the knuckles around the pin, defaulting to one-fifth of the hinge width Pin Center Height: The distance from the bottom of the hinge to the center of the pin, defaulting to half of the knuckle diameter Note: Changing this to less than half of the knuckle diameter causes sag (knuckle below leaf) and may require supports Pin Diameter: The diameter of the pin inside the knuckles, defaulting to one-half of the knuckle diameter Leaf Height: The thickness (z-dimension) of the leafs, defaulting to one-quarter of the knuckle diameter (matching the knuckle around the pin) Base Width: The distance between the center pin and knuckle supports, defaulting to the knuckle diameter (~45-degree angle on knuckle support) Note: Reducing this from the default weakens hinge strength Gap: The distance in mm between all moving parts (around pin, between knuckles, etc.), defaulting to 0.5 Note: Changing this to be .4 or less may cause hinge parts to fuse together
