Parametric twisted underslung spool brackets
thingiverse
This is a pair of brackets intended to allow a filament spool to be suspended below the top frame of a delta printer. The idea is that I could make a heat-retaining enclosure for the printer, that simply rests on the top frame - which would conflict with the usual sort of top-mounted spool. In the interests of learning OpenSCAD (and also because I have no idea how I'd model the necessary 60º twist in Tinkercad), I've made this fully parametric. You can make brackets to support any round rod, any distance below any rectangular bar, with any angle between the rod and bar. (Or suspend a bar below a rod, but keep in mind that only the rectangular end has a slot for a cable tie to hold it in place.) The example STL is set up for a Kossel Clear (1515 extrusion frame), about 4" of drop, and a 1/2" diameter rod.
