This design is created using openscad software and features a range of customization options. I searched extensively for a suitable design but ultimately decided to create one myself due to the lack of available designs that fit my specific needs. The primary goal was to develop a bowden carriage compatible with E3d-v6 extruder setups, along with designing an optimized object and heatsink cooling duct system. Both ducts are specifically designed to accommodate 40x40 mm fans. The object cooling duct boasts a full circular shape with an asymmetrical blowout gap to compensate for the increased air pressure on the inflow side. In contrast, the heatsink fan is engineered to maximize airflow towards the heat sink. To avoid adding unnecessary mass to the E3d extruder, both ducts are integrated into the carriage itself - a design choice that many others surprisingly neglect. The object fan can be easily modified and customized to suit individual setup preferences. A 45-degree configuration works best for me, but as evident from the images, a 90-degree version is also feasible with minimal modifications. The necessary parameters can be found within the openscad file titled Carriage_Ducts.scad. Certain STL files are only required for visualization purposes, such as the fans and E3d extruder, which can be located in the import section of the design. I printed the model using TitanX ABS (plus version with low warp issues). Fortunately, all STL files can be successfully printed without any support material needed.
