Note: **This design uses captive nuts. Please see the printing instructions for details.** This is a knife handle made to replace the molded thermoplastic handle on my fancy German kitchen knife. The knife is stainless steel, but the rivets in the side are made from aluminum, which eventually corrodes in the dishwasher. (I try not to dishwash the knives, but sometimes, they just need it). This handle intends to replace the existing cracked handle so that I can continue to use the knife. The handle uses some custom HTPLA material from proto pasta, which should allow it to be dishwasher safe in the future. As I'm not eating off of the handle, I'm comfortable with it not being 100% food safe, however as it is now dishwasherable, that shouldn't be an issue. The hardware used is M2 x 12mm stainless socket head cap screws (ISO7380-2) and accompanying nuts. I would recommend using a standard (bladed) screw as the tiny hex socket on the M2 screw rounds out easily with too much torque.
