The Park Tool DT-5.2 disk brake mount facing tool comes in a nice plastic box, with cutouts in the foam insert for all the major parts. Unfortunately, the standoffs and center pin needed for working with flat mount (road style) disc brakes are just thrown in a little plastic bag. This didn't seem right, so I drew up this thing to hold them securely.

The two grey standoffs are for the front fork and have an M5x0.8mm thread to hold them in place. The black standoffs are for the rear brake and have O-rings to hold them in place, so those holes are smooth with a slight taper. The silver center pin is used on the flat mount front brakes as a guide that replaces the stock black center pin.

For more information on using the DT-5.2, see Park's excellent instructional video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBsqYnYj\_sE

Print instructions

Category: Hand Tools Summary

The Park Tool DT-5.2 disk brake mount facing tool comes in a nice plastic box, with cutouts in the foam insert for all the major parts. I wouldn't go too coarse on the layer height as the printed-in M5x0.8 threads work best when the layer height is around 1/4 to 1/5th of the thread pitch, so something in the 0.15mm range should work the best. It's a small part and still quick to print at that layer height.
