Parrot Teleprompter GoPro 4 Mod

I recently purchased a Parrot Teleprompter for doing company training videos but bringing in my DSLR to the office every day with my big tripods, cables, battery packs and so on was starting to be a hassle. I always have a GoPro with me though and so I wanted to adapt this awesome mini teleprompter to GoPro awesomeness! This adapter plate simply slides onto the back of the Parrot 2 Teleprompter, you need to print out the generic 1/4" x 20 tripod plate below to stick on the bottom of the teleprompter in order to mount it on any tripod with a standard screw mount. I used 3M VHB double sided tape on the plate to ensure it wasn't going to fall off my tripod. The GoPro is very wide angle so if you have it set on wide or medium FOV you will get horrible vignetting so the settings I use for my Hero 4 Silver or Black are 2.7K Linear FOV. 1080p also has the linear field of view setting but I like to have a little more image resolution in my videos in case I need to crop in post production. The linear FOV crops the image about 10% and takes out the extreme barrel distortion of the cameras lens. I designed this mod with vlogging in mind so the charging ports and SD card are totally accessible without removing the camera from the holder. A cool little bonus I didn't plan on was the camera fits just snug enough that with the camera mounted, you can power it on or off and make mode changes using the front button on the camera by gently pushing the camera forward against the back of the adapter. It works so sweet, its almost like I designed it that way! The other two buttons are exposed by design. This is perfect for me while vlogging or doing quick location shoots for my Youtube channel. Throw it on a Joby pod, clamp it to a tree and you have a high resolution camera/teleprompter setup which works awesome. Really the only thing you need to finish this build is a 1/4" x 20 square nut available at Home Depot or Lowes or your favorite hardware store and some really decent double sided tape to mount the tripod plate. I used 20% infill but its solid enough I likely could have gotten away with less but your mileage may vary depending on your printers capabilities. ENJOY!
