Parts 001...010 - The CAD Album of 100 CAD Parts

Mind that this is not a part or a group of parts. This is an Album or a Collection of 100 parts, consisting in ten groups of ten parts each.Starting with this group of ten parts, the library contains a total of 100 parts, created initially with AutoCAD, and now remodeled with Inventor 2014 as IPT files. They are ordered by complexity, from 001 (low complexity) to 100 (high complexity). My wish is to offer 100 models for the ones who are interested in using a CAD software to model them from simple to complex. My special advice is: learn CAD at your own pace by modeling each of that 100 parts one by one, from 1 to 100. Keep in mind that if you will model all this 100 parts, then you are mastering your CAD software enough to feel like a pro!Look at the title picture „All 100 parts.jpg” (or the included „All 100 parts.pdf”) file to see the table with all that 100 parts - with an exception (Part 001), because the table arrangement is 11x9=99 icons. You can watch how the part 001 is modeled in Inventor - look to this movie: http://autode.sk/2y7HZpbThese 100 parts are original, and all of them were presented in my books „Album de proiectare 3D cu AutoCAD - Ed II, Editura FAST, Bucuresti 2007” and „Album cu 100 piese mecanice - Editura Din Condei, Bucuresti 2016”, as you can see in the included synonymous PDF files, after the first edition in 2004. If you want to use any part in your public works, you are gently invited to mention my books, WITHOUT any written (or unwritten) approval from us...Using Inventor to model them would be an advantage, because the IPT file can be opened, and then the EOP (End of Part) marker can be moved up in the browser to see how the part was made. Added is an IDW file which contains all the necessary dimensions and data for creating the model. The drawings comply with ISO standards. For the rest of users (SOLIDWORKS, Creo Parametric, CATIA etc.), the IDW file is converted to a PDF file, so the Inventor software is not necessary at all, since all the information is contained in the JPG and PDF files. Besides, the 3D model can be visualized as STP file, and you can rotate or even section it, just like having the part in your hands! The best way to learn is to print the IDW or PDF file (always an A4 piece of paper), and to try to use it - and solely it - to make the model. If necessary, you can use the associated JPG and/or STP file, but the proud of modeler is to use the drawing, only... The supreme challenge is to re-create the drawing itself, using your CAD software, but keeping the same aspect in every part of it (views, dimensions, texts etc.). Mind that the printed IDW looks better than the printed PDF.So, there are a total of at least 5 files for every part: IPT, IDW, JPG, PDF and STP. Download all the 100 parts (over 500 files), and try to create the 3D models! And enjoy!Notes: 1/ The volume of part (in mm^3) is displayed in the IDW/PDF file, down-on-the-left, so you can verify instantly if your model is correct! You can use it to measure the ability of your students/apprentices, as well. 2/ If you want to be always up-to-date, you are advised to download the files (again) at the time you want to use them, because I cannot stop me to refine randomly any of my 100 models.3/ I am sure that there are not any missing dimensions and/or necessary indications in the PDF file, but nobody is perfect! If you find any (little) missing element, you are encouraged to send me a message. I'll be happy to mention your name in the description of the respective part, together with my words of apologize... That words would be very precious for you, because lots and lots of my students participated years after years (since 2004!) to eliminate any missing element. Why? Because they are always restless, this is why...4/ The treads are represented as texture - instead of a true helical feature - just as they are produced by Autodesk Inventor. This procedure insures a correct presentation of the threads in the drawings - lines and dimensions. Despite this advantage, the JPG file presents a merely pictured thread instead of a real one (look at the part 020). „Any advantage is followed by at least one disadvantage”, said the great Gambetta...5/ I reserve my „constitutional” right to change any file of that 100 parts, in order to enhance the model (IPT file), or the drawing (IDW file), or its position from 1 to 100, or even the part itself. When I use another release of Inventor (instead of 2014), I mention it in the name (see Part 008 (Inv2018).idw).
