this is a passive speaker or an audio amplifier for an iPad 2 with case it increased the audio level in my ipad 4 or 6 dB in average the dimensions were calculated to use the speaker with an ipad that is already inside a case. i think it requieres some milimeters of brim because it warped a little on 2 corners. as you can see in the video
