<p>When we took down our patio umbrella for the season my wife suggested that I design and print a cap for its stand to keep all the leaves and pine needles out over winter.</p> <p>That only took a few minutes... so I kept designing. I ended up mocking up a miniature version of the umbrella because [TBD]. The angles of the umbrella don't lend themselves to easy printing, but I also didn't try very hard.</p> <p>Our umbrella stand has a diameter of 43.25mm. There are two lock pins that are 9.35mm in diameter and 33..95mm from the top of the pipe.</p> <h3>Print instructions</h3><ul> <li>Layer Height: 0.15mm<ul> <li>The cap could be printed at 0.2 but I put want to print all at once.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Infill: 20%</li> <li>Supports: For the umbrella only</li> </ul> <p>I suggest printing in PETG or another UV resistant filament. Pictured is Prusament Galaxy Black PETG.</p> <p>Assembly:</p> <p>Carefully remove the supports from the umbrella without breaking the umbrella pole. If you have any elephant footing you may need to clean up the bottom of the pole before it will insert into the cap. Use a drop of super glue to attach the two.</p>
