PCB Clamp

PCB Clamp

Needed a good PCB Clamp that could be modified for larger size PCB's like Motherboards so here's what I decided to make. Openscad files for these STL's are available from: https://github.com/Dragnsbld/3D-Files/tree/master/PCB%20Clamp/Openscad%20Files The base holes for the legs should be drilled to ensure they are a 6mm diameter and the pins on the legs need to be filed to a snug fit when inserting them into the base. The Base, Connector Arm, Slide Arm Connector, Slide Arms, and the Spacer are all created with 5 mm thread but can be tapped to ensure a clean fit. The photos are of the final product minus the Spacer, I decided it would be good to add the spacer on the thumbscrew used on the Connector Arm so it can tighten the ball joint sufficiently. Make sure the thread for tightening the Connector Arm is good so the arms stay in position or use a nut on one side, I chose to thread one side which seems to work well. You will need to the following additional parts for this build: 4 - M5 x 25 mm Hex head screws 4 - Thumbscrew inserts (I just got a Thing from Thingiverse for this, any will do) 1 - 102 mm (4") L x 5 mm (3/16") D rod (5 mm threaded rod can be used for convenience) 3 - Self-stick rubber pads for the ends of the legs, cut to fit 1 - 1/8" T x 1/2" W Aluminum stock or equivalent (your choice of length, mine is 12") I am in the U.S. so I used a 3/16" rod, bent 1/2" from either end at 45 degrees and threaded the ends 1/4" L x 5 mm, this worked wonderfully. I then painted the rod and ran the threads to clean them of paint before putting them into place. The Slide Arms have 2 additional holes in place to reduce material use, but have the added advantage of giving the user the choice of adding rubber banding to act as a retainer for the board before tightening the nuts into place. They also have V-Slots so even round boards can be held in place without any issues. This was my initial reason for creating this version. Hope you all find it useful.
