Peacock Coaster Set

Peacock Coaster Set

thingiverse

This is my very first attempt to create a design to print. It is a beverage coaster holder for 6 coasters. I cannibalized the Peacock Buddha by ToaKamate as there is no way I can teach myself how to design in 3D. I used Meshmixer to isolate the head and brought it into Tinkercad where I melded it to a base. I used CorelDraw to create the coaster design and imported that into Tinkercad. The "crown" on the peacock head turned out to be quite delicate and broke off easily, so I used a cone shape to reinforce it. The first two "fans" of the peacock tail are attached to the base as a design element (I have since tweaked the design so there is no gap as there shows in the attached images) and the coasters slide into slots for storage. After printing, I added a little gold paint for accent and added rubber glass bumpers to the bottom of the coasters to prevent them from sliding and scratching the table. Printed on a Tenlog/Hero This will fit on a Monoprice Mini Select if rotated, but I haven't tried yet.
