I liked this model, but it didn't slice well with my setup. It would have taken longer than I would have liked. Also looking at the comments of the original model, people were having print times or 7 to 11 hours; I got mine down to 2.5 hours. Since I don't have to original editing file, I scaled the .stl file for optimum "wall width" / "line width" vs speed. My models will also have the added benefit of reducing wear on your printer by eliminating the jerky movements of your print head. Using a 0.4 mm nozzle Line Width of 0.4 mm On my Monoprice Select Mini (your time will vary): With the original stl at 100% Cura estimated 6 hours 05 Minutes. Scaling the X and Y to 84% (Z at 100%) the time dropped to 2 hours 58 minutes. In other words, a 19% reduction in volume resulted in a 51% reduction in time. You could print two in the same time as one of the old model. On my Creality Ender 3 (line width of 0.4 mm) with the same scaling (19% reduction in build volume) resulted in a 40% reduction in time.. Cura Estimate 2 hours 13 minutes. So I am posting two models. Pencil Holder Remix 67mm.stl 67 x 67 x 99 mm is the scaled down version which should print about 40~50% faster. and Pencil Holder Remix 120mm.stl using the same optimum line width vs speed theory is scaled up to 120 x 120 x 99 mm. Cura estimated 5 hours and 53 minutes on my Ender 3. For this speed increase, your Nozzle and line width should be 0.4mm. Even though Cura time estimates may not match the real printing times and are affected by things like layer height, the percent reduction in time should be relative. The layer height of my Select Mini (Blue in the photo) is set for 0.175 mm and the 67mm file printed in 3 hours 19 minutes, real time. The layer height of the Ender 3 (Red) is 0.16 mm and the 67 mm file printed in 2 hours 30 minutes. The 120 mm file took less than 6 hours on my Ender 3. Update (March 25, 2019): I noticed a flaw in the original source stl, that this is remixed from. I filled in the holes in the bottom and uploaded the new files.
