Pencil Holder for Desk

Pencil Holder for Desk

This is a pencil holder that I designed to clip onto the edge of a craft table. It has 74 9mm holes in the top and a grid on the bottom for pencil alignment. It was designed specifically for Caran d'Ache Colored and Derwent Pencils but should fit most similar pencils. The edge clip fits the desk with friction and is pretty snug after some testing. Note that this was created for a craft desk with a 15mm thickness. You will have to adjust for your setup. The top and bottom print separately. The bottom is a simple print with no specific requirements. The nature of the design makes it pretty rigid. The top piece needs a bit more attention. It prints upside down with supports, which will support the clip piece. Once both are printed they will press fit together. I would recommend printing the top piece with more infill, more top and bottom layers, and more perimeter shells. The main body is pretty strong, but the legs could use the extra support. I used 50% infill, 6 top and bottom layers, and 6 perimeter shells. You will note that in the photo I have etched a logo. It is 2mm deep and prints really well on the side. I have linked to my design page below where I have a variety of art supply logos if you want to try this. I am continuing to create new holders in this style so keep an eye out, or let me know of a specific request. These holders are designed for use on a Studio Designs Pro Craft Station. https://www.thingiverse.com/wwiens/designs
