Penguin party - a mechanical toy

<p>I created this for the request of my son.<br/> The idea and the shape is come from a book (Paper Engineering &amp; Pop-ups For Dummies).<br/> On the page is a photo about a "penguin party". Because there is just a small grayscale photo, I needed to start from scratch.</p> <p>Turn the handle and the penguins start dance (so.. just jumping, and lifting their wings)</p> <h3>Print instructions</h3><p>You need to print:</p> <ul> <li>2x body (black)</li> <li>2x wings (black)</li> <li>2x eyes (white)</li> <li>2x front (white)</li> <li>2x beak (orange)</li> <li>2x holder (orange)</li> <li>2x follower</li> <li>1x box (print on back side)</li> <li>1x mechanic parts<h3>Assembly</h3> </li> </ul> <p><strong>Penguins</strong></p> <p>First need to assembly the two penguins:</p> <p><strong>Holders and the wings</strong></p> <p><strong>Put the holder (hook pointing outside) into the penguin from bottom.</strong></p> <p><strong>1, put the holder, 2 put the wing and hook on hook, 3, pull the holder (the wing need to moving up too)</strong></p> <p><strong>push the second holder. need to pay attention to the directions: the small triangle on the bottom point outside</strong></p> <p><strong>Push (and glue, if needed) the rest together.</strong></p> <p><strong>Assembly the box</strong></p> <ul> <li>put the follower the small holes from bottom</li> <li>push the longest axis in the hole of the middle.</li> <li>push the two cam each end of the axis (need to be opposed) (glue is needed)</li> <li>push the two short axis to the hole in the box, and in the cam (glue inside the cam if needed)</li> <li>one edge put the small ring</li> <li><p>another edge build the handle:<br/> ++ push the axis inside the handle<br/> ++ push (glue) the axis inside the crank<br/> ++ push the crank (glue) to the end of cam axis.<br/> <strong>Final assembly</strong></p> </li> <li><p>glue the follower inside each penguin</p> </li> <li>glue the holders into the holes on the box (the penguins face each other)</li> </ul>
