Pentagonal Tile Type 3 (p3/333)

Pentagonal Tile Type 3 (p3/333)

thingiverse

This is a basic design for a type 3 pentagonal tiling of the Euclidean plane. This pentagon type was discovered by Reinhardt (1918). Interestingly, some pentagons in this group can also be tiled in 3*3, but since the angles have been modified this tile is only in 333. The design was largely derived from mathgrrl's Pentomizer. Many thanks! This tile was made for my MATH401: Math through 3D Printing course at George Mason University. It is taught by Evelyn Sander in Fall 2019.
