Pentax K-mount to Pentax Q adapter

This adapter lets you use a Pentax K-mount lens with your Pentax Q. If the lens has an aperture ring then you can control the aperture as normal by the ring. If the lens does not have an aperture ring the aperture will be fully open when mounted on to this adapter. If you don't want full aperture you can adjust it by slightly turning the lens as if unmounting form the adpater. A few degrees will fully close the aperture. The adapter does not have a locking pin for the lens but fits tightly enough to not need one. The lack of it also allows to change the aperture as described above. The adapter does not have a tripod mount, something which I intend to do when I find some time for it. Instructions Slice at 0.1mm. Print in black ABS preferably matte. No raft or support needed. The lens side will need some trimming before it can fit properly to the lens. If you have some old lens lying about that is not so important then best to experiment with it until you get the right fit. The camera side did not need any trimming in my case but that will depend on your printer's calibration. Once you have achieved good fit to both the camera and the lens paint the inside of the adapter a matte black and allow it to dry well. This will avoid contrast being degraded by light reflected off the inside. The reason mine is red is simply because I ran out of black filament. The upper layers have very little material so you might need to slow down the printing to allow cooling. If you use Skeinforge go to the 'Cool' tab and set a minimum layer time of 10 seconds or thereabout. You may need to experiment to find a good balance between having enough cooling and getting consistent flow (too slow speed makes blobs on my printer).
