Pentax Q adapter for microscope

This adapter allows you to mount your Pentax Q in place of the eyepiece of a microscope. It fits any microscope with an inner tube diameter of 23mm, but you can easily modify it to fit other diameters, The two images on the right are of the chip from an SD card shot with the Q7 and a Konus microscope with a 10/0.25 objective lens. Illumination is with a Metz P-TTL flash with a soft box. Instructions Slice at 0.1mm and print it in black ABS, matte if possible. No raft or supports needed. It fitted perfectly first time for me but it may need some trimming depending on your printer calibration. After completing it and making it fit paint the inside a matte black to reduce reflections that could degrade contrast. The upper layers have very little material so you might need to slow down the printing to allow cooling. If you use Skeinforge go to the 'Cool' tab and set a minimum layer time of 10 seconds or thereabout. You may need to experiment to find a good balance between having enough cooling and getting consistent flow (too slow speed makes blobs on my printer).
