Peon 230 Arm V1 mixed with Prop Guard - single print
thingiverse
I'm a beginner here, still getting familiar with this community and all the amazing work you guys do. I just finished my first quad and I have to say, I really appreciate the effort put into it. I hope I won't need prop guards for much longer! A huge thanks to Tech2c - without his help, I wouldn't even be into this right now. And if it weren't for the RClifeon YouTube channel, I probably would've missed this whole thing. I'm currently experimenting with a standard prop guard by IlanF, printed in TPU, so it's not fully flight tested yet. However, I wasn't thrilled about having to use longer motor mounting bolts, so I thought, why not merge the two designs and create arms with an integrated guard? This way, we can keep things as light as possible. While working on this project, I decided to enlarge the center of the motor mount to 6.5mm because my original Peon arms kept fouling on my motors (4 x Racerstar Racing Edition 1806 BR1806 2280KV 1-3S Brushless Motor CW/CCW For 250 260 RC Drone FPV Racing). This meant I'd have to drill them out every time, which is definitely not the most efficient way to do things. UPDATE: As of 10/03/2018, everything's flying great! Unfortunately, before I got a chance to take a photo, I had a massive crash. Luckily, my quad still works fine (although one bumper is missing an arm). The story goes that it got tangled up in a tall sycamore and fell over 30 feet upside-down - not exactly the most elegant way to go down!
