I got really tired of boring meetings, so I built a game to help people communicate. All meetings exist for one reason and one reason only: for a team to look at one problem, and jointly solve it. No participant can be unengaged. All perspectives matter. Taking this as my creed, I built a metaphorical puzzle. All participants would have to leverage their perspectives and ideas to complete it. But here's the thing. The pieces are too large to move independently. This means you have to work together! So there you have it. People puzzles is a project that takes small 3D puzzles and blows them up into large, unmanageable sizes. The aim is to present the geospatial challenges required to complete a puzzle– to a team. Considering the 'ergonomics' of the game, I made a series of design decisions. Participants would have to be able to translate each piece freely, so the size and weight needed to be perfect. To test what sizes worked best, I concluded it was best to make the model scalable. This means that I needed to have the freedom to change the dimensions of the puzzle, and immediately test the size with a real, laser cut prototype. I learned how to use Inventor 'variables' to create dynamic models. With the touch of a button, I could have the necessary files to cut a newly sized puzzle piece. Using your working knowledge of inventor you can download and scale the model to any dimension you want. *a note about experimentation these plans will allow you to experiment rapidly. Most arbitrary permutations of wood thickness, jig width and scale will yield a perfectly interlocking structure( although some adhesive will be required.) This specific puzzle is based on the Double-Cross Puzzle tags:puzzle, solution, problem, fun, entertainment, model, panel, burr, tools, inventor, interlocking, jig, structure,
