Perforated Sheet Metal - 1/16" hole x 3/32" staggered (hex) pattern, 22 GA (.0299")48"x120" sheetUntrimmed perforated sheet SolidWorks 2017 .sldasm file containins 23 x 27 linear array of internal (virtual) part with sketch array of 23 x 56 holes = 799,848 holes total. Untrimmed file is under 2MB and displays reasonably quickly with "unresolved lightweight components". If trimmed to 48"x120" using "assembly feature cut", file size balloons to 54MB. 48" x 120" file adds 8 additional virtual parts on the sheet edges that are individually trimmed and assembled to obtain 48" x 120". File size 11MB. Curved / Formed perforated sheets are possible with this method if the curvature is modeled at the part level.
