Periodic Table shelves

thingiverse

Periodic Table display and collector's shelves for your element collection. This is a remix of Sean Michael Ragan's shelves, with an engraved front panel added. Instructions This is a redrawn remix of the original, re-drawn for 3mm acrylic. It's roughly inch cubes. If I did it again, I'd probably shrink these a bit, to better fit the magnifier boxes. The front panel, the main addition, is mostly raster engraving work. Engrave this at a low resolution, like 200dpi, so that you get a coarse engraved surface that will then hold an indian ink infill (look at my Photographic Scales thing for a description). At first I just infilled the element symbols and not the group lines (first pic), but they're hard to see over the shelves so I infilled them too (second pic). Longest pieces are about 24" long, so you will need a fairly large laser to cut one. Or if you're in Europe, get in touch and we'll make you one – it's what we do. Corel & PDF
