The kid really needs your support:http://goo.gl/ELT7ii I wrote a Cura change filament plugin just to make this project easy:http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2077884 Inspired by the original Personalized Glowing Valentines for Kids heart by VickyTGAW, I wanted to make some improvements: A more stylized heart A more stylized font Added some bling with a second filament change Removed the pendant hook (safety first) Adjusted size to print 9 at a time on my 200 x 200 mm bed OpenSCAD file included so that you can customize the text, export the STL, and print your own. If you happen not to have the Comic Sans font, remove or edit that parameter. Make sure the .dxf files are in the same folder as the .scad file. Just in case, maybe tell the kids not to eat them. :) Print Settings Printer: Monoprice Maker Select Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill: 100% Notes: For cosmetic reasons, use a small Z Hop to avoid the possibility of scratching the last layers. The first shape (red heart) is 1.0mm thick. I used a first layer of 0.2mm. With 0.2mm layers, you'll change the filament the first time at 1.2mm height. With 0.1mm layers, you'll change the filament at 1.1mm height. The second shape (glow in the dark outline) is 0.8mm thick. So, with 0.2mm layers, you'll change the filament the second time at 2.0mm height. With 0.1mm layers, you'll change the filament at 1.9mm height. Make sure you set the shell thickness to the same as your nozzle diameter (walls = 1) to get those small details on the bling. You can see in my closeup photo that I forgot to lower the shell thickness for my first batch, and one of the heart details didn't print. I used an infill of 100%, but if I had a fancy slicer, I probably would have given the first shape (the red heart) a lower infill. How I Designed This Created the shapes in Inkscape, exported as DXF files, then extruded in OpenSCAD. Files included.
