Pet cage door stay

I want to be able to keep the cage door open enough for a new puppy to enter and exit but to keep out an older boisterous dog. Hopefully this door stay will do the trick. The stl is suitable for the cage I have but the scad file is parametric and can be easily modified to produce stays that should fit any wire cage. If you edit the scad you could even use it as a cable or pipe clip! Instructions The stl is suitable for a wire cage with 4.5mm bars and is approx 100mm long. I was hoping to be able to move the clip up and down the door frame to vary the opening, but the wires along the door opening are a different size to the wires that frame the door and cage. I think I need to do some more work on this. Warning: The clip on one of my test prints snapped when fitting to the cage. I will make the clips in the stl slightly bigger and reupload shortly. Update: Newer version of the STL with thicker clip ends has been uploaded. Clip ends still snap on the thicker version. I am trying with wider clip opening. Update: Even with a widened clip opening the clips still snap sometimes. I would try printing in ABS rather than PLA but my ABS printer is off line for the moment. I will update when I have tried it. If you need other sizes feel free to edit the scad file!
