Peterthinks' chain
thingiverse
A little project I'm tinkering with. This chain is woven onto filament, wire or elastic cord instead of linking together with tiny knobs like most chains (which honestly leaves much to be desired in my book). Still needs some fine-tuning on the ends but that's specific to my printer setup. The chain itself is fully functional. Customize the ends to suit your preferences. I suppose filaflex would work well for stringing it together but regular PLA seems sufficient. Insulated 16 AWG copper wire also gets the job done. The Sketchup files are included so you can modify it as needed. There's virtually no limit to how long you can make this since it won't fall apart easily. The tolerance is very lenient too since you can clean up the spine holes with a drill. If your printer can produce plastic, you should be able to create this.
With this file you will be able to print Peterthinks' chain with your 3D printer. Click on the button and save the file on your computer to work, edit or customize your design. You can also find more 3D designs for printers on Peterthinks' chain.
