See / Voir: assembly video / video assemblage English: Here is my representation of the "Little Prince of Saint-Exupery  ". As the theme of the competition for which I created it clearly stated it, I “take inspiration from the original characters of Saint Exupery's book” ... but let's be honest, he did not draw very well. Representing his Little Prince in 3D is not an easy task. So I did my best to create a character representing the Little Prince and his Fox as drawn in the original book and not inspired by the film or any existing characters. I paid particular attention to the laying of the fox and the prince to highlight the flower so dear to his heart. In the replay of this classic I took to revisit my heart child. I loved this exercise. I put a lot of time of creation, patience, concentration, reflection and pleasure to realize this work. Inspired by the way Saint-Exupery describes him, I tried to give the little prince his air of innocence, but also of anxiety, questioning and perplexity in the face of life. I used mostly "Medium VR" for this piece. If you want, my creation allows inserting a LED light under the base. This illuminates the flower and the dome that covers it allowing the light to radiate from them. The interior of the base should be opaque black so that the light only comes out of the hole provided for this purpose. Also, a white LED light gives a better result than yellow ones imitating a flame ... but it's a matter of taste. The little prince is broken down into different parts to assemble in the end. This allows great flexibility in the way of printing, in the choice of the color of printing materials and greatly assisting in cleaning supports and finishing. This is my first attempt of slicing a creation into parts to assemble it in the end; I hope everything will be OK for you. It is very necessary to clean the traces of the supports in all the parts to ensure a perfect assembly. The assembly can be done using epoxy or any other adhesive for PLA. For those who want it, I also provide a file of my complete project in one part, but the cleaning of print supports may be laborious. The flower and the dome are printed in transparent PLA. I also provided two versions of the dome for the flower, a semi open to allow seeing the rose and a closed one in case some of you would be able to print it completely transparent (otherwise the frosted effect of the transparent filament prevents to see the rose). For the rose and its stem I used a sharpie marker rather than paint, it lets the light pass through. The parts are already in the correct orientation for printing and you obviously have to use supports to carry out this project. If possible, I advise you to raise the parts from 0.6mm of the base for printing; it makes the supports cleaning easier. I have done my best to make this work as simple and accessible as possible, but it still requires a minimum effort from you. You will however be rewarded for the pleasure of your eyes and those of your loved ones. I hope that you will appreciate this project and that you will have a lot of pleasure realizing it. Comme la thématique du concours pour lequel je l’ai créé le demandait clairement, je me suis "inspiré des dessins originaux du livre de Saint-Exupéry" … mais soyons francs, il ne dessinait pas très bien. Représenter en 3D son petit prince n’est pas une mince affaire. J’ai donc fait mon possible pour créé une figurine représentant le petit prince et son renard tel que dessiné dans le livre original et non inspiré du film ou de figurines déjà existantes. J’ai  porté une attention particulière à la pose du renard et du prince pour mettre en valeur la fleur si chère à son cœur. À la relecture de ce grand classique je me suis pris à revisiter mon cœur d’enfant. J’ai adoré cet exercice. J’ai mis beaucoup d’heure de création, de patience, de concentration, de réflexion et de plaisir à réaliser cette œuvre. En m’inspirant de la façon dont Saint-Exupéry le décrit, j’ai  tenté de donner au petit prince son air d’innocence, mais aussi d’inquiétude, d’interrogation et de perplexité face à la vie. J’ai utilisé en grande partie « Medium VR » pour cette pièce. Si vous le désirez, ma création permet d’insérer une lumière LED sous la base. Celle-ci illumine par ce fait la fleur et le dôme qui la recouvre permettant à la lumière d’irradier de ceux-ci. L’intérieur de la base devra être peint noir opaque pour que la lumière ne sorte que du trou prévu à cet effet. Aussi, une lumière LED blanche donne un meilleur résulta que celles jaunes imitant une flamme… mais c’est une question de goûts. Le petit prince est décomposé en différentes partie à assembler au final. Cela permet une grande flexibilité dans la façon d’imprimer, dans le choix de la couleur des matériaux d’impression et aide grandement au nettoyage et à la finition. C’est ma première tentative de décomposer une création pour l’assembler au final, j’espère que tout se passera bien pour vous. Il faut bien nettoyer les pièces des traces des supports afin d’assurer un assemblage parfait. L’assemblage peut se faire à l’aide d’époxy ou toute autre colle pour PLA. Pour ceux qui le désirent, je fournis aussi un fichier de mon projet complet non-décomposé, mais le nettoyage des supports d’impression risque d’être laborieux. La fleur et le dôme sont imprimés en PLA transparent. J’ai aussi fournis deux versions du dôme pour la fleur, un semi ouvert pour permettre de bien voir la rose et un fermé au cas où certain d’entre vous serait capable de l’imprimer complètement transparent (autrement l’effet givré du filament transparent empêche de bien voir la rose). Pour la rose et sa tige, j’ai utilisé un feutre sharpie plutôt que de la peinture, cela laisse la lumière passer au travers. Les pièces sont déjà placées dans la bonne orientation pour l’impression et vous devez, évidemment, utiliser des supports pour réaliser ce projet. Si possible, je vous conseille de surélever les pièces de 0.6mm de la base pour l’impression, cela rend le nettoyage des supports plus aisé. J’ai fait mon possible pour rendre cette œuvre le plus simple et accessible possible, mais elle nécessite tout-de-même un minimum d’efforts de votre part. Vous serez récompensé toutefois pour le plus grand plaisir de vos yeux et de ceux de vos proches. J’espère que vous allez apprécier ce projet et que vous aurez beaucoup de plaisir à le réaliser.
