The petroglyphs of A Coutada were discovered after the 2017 wildfires. After finding the petroglyph, archaeologists went to visit it. Experts were amazed when they saw that it was not deer drawings, as is usually common, but equine figures. This way, they could confirm "a new paradigm in Galician and Portuguese rock art" on which they had been working for two years: The large inclined rock existing in Taboexa shows small cavities scattered across its surface, some abstract shapes, anthropomorphic figures with sex, and most importantly, more than 20 zoomorphs in different directions, almost all of them equines and in different attitudes: with a rider, without one, with a rider carrying an arm, with canines to be captured, among others.
