Okay..okay.. I here the "lipstick on a pig" comments going off in your heads but this was a fun little project for a friend who inherited this from their father. The original grips of this break-action revolver were made of what appears to be bakelite. Over the years it deteriorated and became very brittle, started cracking and breaking off, rendering the gun unusable. I offered to see if I could design a replacement grip and this is the outcome. Now, as shown, it is a mixed media project with the carbon fiber 3D printed grip being stippled with my AtomStack 20W laser and the two inlaid wooden laminate disks were cut with the same. Neither you would have to do to the grips to make them work. Printed in high resolution (fine) with carbon fiber filament resulted in a strong, light and attractive product. I was just showin' off.
